During my last year at university, I decided my thesis was going to be about ‘purpose-oriented’ companies. After five years of studying the theory of business and economics, my aim was to comprehend how a company could prioritize making the world a better place over solely pursuing profits.
To understand this, I conducted interviews with the founders of 17 B-corp-certified companies. Among these, there was Patients Know Best, a Personal Health Record (PHR) software company whose mission is to revolutionise healthcare by empowering patients, one record at a time.
Fascinated by its vision, I started working at Patients Know Best right after graduation, and some years later, I am excited to present a research project co-authored with Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, the company’s founder and CEO, titled 'Personal Health Records for Governments.'
