PKB is committed to providing a long-term complete record, a record that customers and patients can rely on. So even if a customer ends their contract with PKB, PKB commits to maintaining the record for the patient for at least 8 years (and longer if the patient is linked to any other PKB customers). There are numerous approaches which should form the exit strategy for any Trust which no longer wishes to continue with a PKB contract, which have been outlined below:
PKB ongoing access for patients
Your contract already guarantees that any patient who registers can keep their PKB record 8 years after the last time they log in i.e. potentially throughout their lifetime if they keep logging in (once every 8 years). So any registered patient can have all the data your organisation had sent to them before terminating the contract, and use PKB for anything they want after that e.g. adding their own data manually.
The steps the Organisation needs to take when stopping the use of PKB are below. Please contact your Success Project Manager for more support.
