Measuring PAM scores for clinical care
The Patient Activation Measure (PAM) scores are a useful to allow a professional to assess tool for healthcare professionals to evaluate a patient's ability capacity to understand comprehend and improve enhance their health. PAM scores should not necessarily be shared with patients. However, it is not always necessary to disclose PAM scores to patients. Patients classified as Level 1 and 2 patients may be less motivated may experience reduced motivation if they are told informed of their scorescores.
Collecting PAM scores
PKB's Success team can configure PAM questionnaire for your patients to fill out the answers in a PKB consultationquestionnaire. PKB recommends the abbreviated 13 questions version of PAM. Each patient's answers go to a professional – either the professional user in PKB who sent the PAM questionnaire to the patient, or the professional to who the patient chose to send the answers to.
