Waiting List Validation technical workflow

A full automated workflow for waiting list validation (WLV) involves the use of PKBs APIs for

  1. Adding patients to WLV teams in PKB

  2. Tracking which patients have no email address in PKB, in order to determine which patients need to be contacted outside of PKB to inform them of their questionnaire requests

  3. Sending WLV related questionnaires to patients for them to complete

  4. Pulling completed questionnaire responses so they can be stored in a downstream system/data warehouse ready to use for triaging

  5. Removing patients from the WLV teams in PKB

Below is the Waiting List Validation process map, detailing the ideal workflow in PKB for a fully automated process. However, there is a lot of flexibility and any of the stages can be performed manually if required.

Further information on the WLV workflow in PKB, including benefits and use cases can be found in our Deploy wiki here: Waiting List Validation.

The full automated WLV workflow requires the use of three different types of APIs, and therefore three different sets of credentials. These are referred to as:

  • HL7 credentials

  • FHIR Facade credentials

  • FHIR AQS credentials
