The Cat@Salut La Meva Salut (LMS) project was initiated in 2009 and opened to the entire Catalan population in 2012. However, access to the platform by patients was initially scarce for various reasons; the most significant being that access was restricted to the use of a digital certificate, which few people had at their disposal. Various alternatives were explored, ensuring compliance with legal and security requirements, to allow citizens to access it more easily and simply. The most suitable proposal was a robust password accessible from various devices (computer, tablet, and mobile)and user name, coupled with a face-to-face procedure that had to be carried out at the primary care centre. This proposal was worked on from the perspective of its functional and technical feasibility, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and the necessary security in handling this type of data. Once these challenges were resolved, a pilot test was carried out to implement the username and password in 33 basic health areas (ABS).
