University of Cumbria
The University of Cumbria was funded by PKB to do an evaluation of the Luton &Dunstable IBD project with Patients Know Best.
Professor Alison Marshall and Dr. Elaine Bidemead, Research Fellow, conducted the research in 2015 and the final report is below. They conducted qualitative research including interviews with "user" and "economic" stakeholders of the project to evaluate levers for the adoption of PKB as an innovation for the management of a chronic condition such as IBD and reviewed the key benefits and limitations reported by different stakeholders.
It is a useful piece of PHR research that talks about chronic disease burden and patient health literacy in self-management with a system such as PKB.
