Train the Trainer Model Training

PKB uses the 'train-the-trainer' approach to train users on our platform. Organisations will identify staff from their training team to become the Organisation (org) PKB trainers. The Success PM attached to the organisation will train this person or persons on all aspects and features of PKB’s portals. The trainers will become expert users of the platform and deliver all pre and post-go-live training to all staff in the organisation. 

This will occur during the eight training sessions provided by the PKB Success PM, four hours in the first week after the clinical transformation workstream kick-off and four in the second week.

 

PKB Success PM will support the Org PKB Trainer with the first training sessions for the Org level go live. This will include training the Organisation Admin Team and the Patient Record Team (PRT) coordinators. 

Train the trainer training

PKB has split the train-the-trainer process into two phases to develop a comprehensive training package internally.

Phase 1

PKB delivers at Org’s go-live stage. The organisation is inviting patients on mass, and data feeds have been turned on, giving patients access to appointments, letters, etc. This means the PRT, data access team, and support staff must be trained to handle customer and non-customer-facing queries. PKB can deliver this training as it's a one-off training session.

 

Phase 2

PKB Success PM and Org trainer deliver. Specialty teams go live, all patient-facing staff need to be trained in not only administrative tasks (coordinator role) like adding to the team, or questionnaire extractions but also how to use PKB in clinical practice and how to communicate with patients through messages, care plans and questionnaires (functions in the professional role). This training can be delivered in collaboration with PKB and the org training team.

 

At the specialty team go-live stage, more comprehensive training will be delivered for professionals, users who view and interact with patient records, and administered teams, supported by our online manual, FAQs, and videos.

  • Work with all workstreams to deliver PKB training to end-users in a timely manner

  • Development and delivery of training programmes to maintain a motivated and skilled user group for the organisation

What will PKB train the trainer/s on?

The trainer will deliver training to all patient-facing staff, professionals and coordinators. They will receive training on all aspects of the;

  1. Patient and carer record

  2. Professional account

  3. Coordinator account

  4. Key features training (data, messaging including auto CC, care plans, consultations/questionnaires and library)

  5. Org and team-level set-up

  8. Org trainer email added for product updates, release updates and newsletter alerts

  9. Refresher training is delivered on request
